After almost a month off from flying 08Romeo is ready for a test flight. The headliner work is completed and Mark from Top Stitch Aviation did an excellent job! Dale at Red Eagle knocked out my list of things to do, a new Garmin 327 transponder, new WAAS GPS antenna and coax, new mic cord pilot side and reconnect my clock to the master so it's not running all the time. I'll keep this one short and sweet, here are the pics.
Wahoo!
ReplyDeleteI have to say, I envy the fit and finish of your interior - looks great!
Thanks! Mark did a great job. I might have him do the window trim next year.
ReplyDeleteFor now I just want to get back in the air. Looks like I am getting night current tomorrow night!!!
Nice, nice. But that radio in the middle looks out of place now! BTW, is that 327 useful for ADS-B Out? I imagine you only need the airdata computer for it, if it is, because you already has the GPS.
ReplyDeleteI think the GDL39 will provide ADS-B in, not out. The Garmin 330 ES can be updated for the ADS-B.
ReplyDeleteToo many years out to lock into the 330ES, new equipment will be out between now and then so I'll wait and see.
The Collins nav/com set up works really well. I have thought about updating to the KX165 but my Collins are cheap to replace and or repair and have been dependable.
Enjoy getting night current!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about my KX-170B that you do about your Collins. Ain't broke, no need to fix it, even if it looks a little funny with all the newer boxes in the panel. In fact, the Nav side of the 170B is more sensitive than my 430W - there's a spot near home base where the 430W always loses the VOR, but the early 70's radio (older than the airplane itself) never does.
Wow, that turned out great Gary!
ReplyDeleteWow! That looks really nice!
